Recently I had the pleasure of having an extended chat with Ossie Rentsch. We got to talk about all things Bowen and Bowtech. Beginning, middle and end.
A number of years ago I interviewed Ossie at an international conference in Italy, but sadly the audio recording was quite poor. I am very happy to have been able to revisit that conversation.
Ossie first met Tom Bowen in 1974, and after he passed away in 1982 held the first seminar teaching his work in Perth 1986.
I was curious to know what a day in the clinic with Tom Bowen was like, Ossie talks about how it was to follow Mr Bowen about and see him working on so many people. I have always marveled at how Ossie came to develop the notes which came to represent the teaching.
Ossie talks about the early days and how he and Elaine came to teach in Australia, then to go across to America and then onto Europe.
I come away thinking about how tenuous was the beginning of the spread of this wonderful modality we know as Bowen Therapy. If it were not for the tenacity, belief and drive of Ossie and Elaine it would I think have faded into history here in Geelong many years ago.
I hope you enjoy my chat with Ossie
